The Team

Maria Fernandez Moore

Washington, D.C. area resident since 2004, this Ohio native was trained in education at Kent State and Johns Hopkins University. Maria began her career as an educator, which served as a natural launching pad for her career in real estate—the communication, listening, and educational skills of a respected teacher is a boon to every one of her interactions, ensuring that her clients are well-informed participants in making critical decisions.

Maria’s client advocacy and market expertise earned her accolades as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s Top Real Estate Agents in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. In one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions, Maria helps buyers respond to ever-changing market conditions, connect with top service providers and achieve their real estate goals.

A full-time REALTOR® since 2011, she and her husband John founded Moore Homes in 2019, with the express desire to create the preeminent boutique real estate company, providing extraordinary service to selective home sellers, buyers, and investors in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.

Maria currently resides in Falls Church, Virginia with her husband John, their son Teddy and dogs, Gracie and Maisy. She enjoys exploring new and undiscovered local restaurants, as well as hiking and running along the area’s extensive network of trails.

John Moore

Falls Church resident and Illinois native, John headed West for college, earning his B.S. from Oregon State University in 1996. He called the Pacific Northwest home for nearly 15 years, working in both the real estate and natural resource fields the entire time. His experience included a seven-year stint with Plum Creek, which at the time, was one of the nation’s largest Real Estate Investment Trusts.

It is in Oregon where John’s passion for real estate development and home renovation really blossomed. He completely rebuilt his vintage bayfront home by hand and later acquired and converted a 40-acre forestland parcel into rural residential building lots near the Pacific Ocean.

John moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 2010 to assume a leadership role in the Federal government, serving as National Program Manager for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, our Nation’s largest landlord. When John moved to Arlington, he finally was able to pursue his lifelong dream of a full-time career in real estate. Full-time REALTOR® since 2015, John is licensed in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, where his listing expertise ensures his clients sell their homes for the most amount of money in the least amount of time, with the smallest amount of hassle.

In his spare time, John enjoys sharing his love of fly fishing and the outdoors with his wife Maria, son Teddy, adult children, Alex and Madison, and their dogs Gracie and Maisy.

Alex Moore

D.C. area resident since 2010 and full-time licensed REALTOR®️ in Virginia and Washington, DC since 2020, Alex got bit by the real estate bug early on. No real surprise, since he grew up in the same household with two real estate mentors--his dad, John, and stepmom, Maria, local real estate veterans who have guided him on his real estate journey.

Alex is a dynamic and knowledgeable buyer’s agent, his passion for real estate has expanded with all he does to service clients and support the Moore Homes team. Alex’s unbridled enthusiasm to go the extra mile for every client shows up every single day.

In addition to real estate, Alex also has a profound love of automobiles. In his free time he works on restoring his classic BMW. He can also be found exploring the outdoors or fly fishing one of our area rivers. An Oregon native, Alex currently lives in Arlington.

Charlotte Gregory

An Arlington resident for the last 10 years, Charlotte relocated from southeast Florida to be near family and help care for her parents. While in Florida, Charlotte obtained her residential real estate license and worked in the business for over eight years. Prior to joining Moore Homes, Charlotte was a busy Arlington County substitute teacher and private academic tutor, engaged with students in elementary, middle and high schools. Her professional career began in international banking in New York, where she held various marketing and risk analysis positions, promoted to Vice President within five years. Charlotte did her undergraduate work at the College of Wooster, in Ohio, and received an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird Global School of Management in Arizona.

For Charlotte, the best and most gratifying part of working in real estate is seeing and feeling the joy and satisfaction of clients when their real estate goals are realized. She has a VA real estate license although Charlotte is not directly engaged in buying/selling, now focusing on the operations side of the business. She respects and honors diversity and is fully bilingual in English/Spanish. She enjoys meeting new people and loves to travel, read and learn new languages. She is the proud mother of a daughter who lives and works in NYC.

John was always very responsive and helped us identify vendors to come in and do some of the work on the house that we could not do ourselves.
